A while ago, a friend asked me if I could create a painting of The Stone Roses based on the famous black and white photograph of the four lads. He didn't want much changing from the actual photograph apart from wanting it more bright and colourful so I came up with this:
I aimed to give it a more stylised look rather than just trying to re-create a photograph, by blending the colours smoothly but downplaying the details slightly I think I managed to achieve this. However, some of the detail is lost in this photograph and slightly distorts a few areas, mainly Ian Brown's face, so to give you an idea of what his face
actually looks like:
And to give you an idea of the size of it, it is balanced on a garden bench so it's pretty big!
