Simon's Cat

It was coming up to my sister's brirthday and she is a big Simon's Cat fan, so I decided to make her one:

 

I would have liked to have spent a bit longer on the paint work but I think it looks quite quaint and handmade like this. She liked it so that was all that mattered!

Karl Pilkington's Ultimate Animal

It was coming up to my sister's birthday and was stuck on what to get her. Then I remembered how much she liked the illustration of Karl Pilkington's ultimate animal from the Ricky Gervais Show:

(she used this as her Profile Picture for a while so I figured this was when she thought it looked it's cutest)

 

So I decided to make her a one! Here is the result:

 

I added a layer of clear Glaze over the top just for a bit of protection.

I was pretty pleased with it and she loved it! Mission accomplished.

TARDIS earrings

A while ago now, I was looking for some Doctor Who TARDIS earrings and couldn't seem to find any anywhere, so I created my own...

 

They work pretty well and have lasted for a few years now. I've been complimented on them many times!

Previous Paintings... Derren Brown

I was looking through pictures of my old work when I came across a few old paintings. I studied Art and Design at college and for my final major project, I produced a series of paintings based on Derren Brown's live stage show, 'Something Wicked This Way Comes'...
I painted it on to mount board and made it in to a sort-of-book bound by metal rings.
Now I look back on it, perhaps it doesn't make much sense to anyone who hasn't seen the show but nevermind...

For the front page, I created a wooden rail and red velvet curtains to fit in more with a theatre theme.

 

For the second page, I took a few quotes from the start of the show explaining what he does. The image isn't from Something Wicked This Way Comes (I believe it was probably from the series 'Mind Control') but shhhh

Plastic bag over the head to slow heart rate and walking over broken glass

After walking on broken glass. Getting head stood on whilst lying in glass.

End of the show!

The book also had a combination lock keeping all the pages together which is why there are small holes on the left had side of the page in the middle.

 

So now I look back on it, I can say 'ah whey, I was only learning how to paint' so it doesn't reeeeeeeeally look like Derren Brown etc etc but I was pleased with it at the time!

The 11th Doctor

Degree Show!

So, ever year at Cleveland College of Art and Design they have an end of year show which is open for two weeks and available for anyone to come and have a look at the thirds years work (in all departments, not just Entertainment Design Crafts). Here's what I had to present for my Degree Show:
